Morning (8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
The event begins with a welcome session for academic officials, marking the official opening of the colloquium. Next, Dr. Irene Borges Duarte, from the University of Évora (Portugal), will deliver the inaugural lecture titled “The Concept of Existential Phenomenology and Its Relationship to Psychology.” In this lecture, Dr. Duarte will explore how existential phenomenology can provide a robust theoretical foundation for psychological practice, examining its philosophical roots and contemporary implications.
Afternoon (2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
The first roundtable discussion, “Phenomenology from an Existential Perspective and Its Relationship with Psychology and the Religious Studies,” will feature presentations by Dr. Paulo Sérgio Lopes Gonçalves, from the Graduate Program in Religious Studies (PPGCR) at PUC-Campinas, and Dr. Ana Maria Feijoo, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). This session will seek to outline how the phenomenological approach can enrich our understanding of religious and psychological experiences, proposing an integration between these disciplines.
Afternoon (4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
The second roundtable of the day, titled “Phenomenology from a Transcendental Perspective and Its Relationship with the Sciences of Religion and Psychology,” will feature Dr. Renato Kirchner, also from the PPGCR at PUC-Campinas, and Dr. Josemar de Campos Maciel, from Dom Bosco Catholic University (UCDB). This discussion will focus on transcendental phenomenology, examining its methodologies and applications in the analysis of religious phenomena and psychological processes, offering a broader perspective on the intersections between these fields.

The keynote lecture on the second day, titled “The Concept of Phenomenology and Its Impact on the Analysis of Religion,” will be presented by Dr. Angela Ales Bello of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, Italy. Dr. Bello is one of the leading figures in the field of phenomenology, and her lecture promises to provide an in-depth analysis of how phenomenological concepts can be applied to understand religious experiences in different cultural and historical contexts.
Afternoon (2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
The third roundtable, “The Application of Phenomenology in the Analysis of Religion and Clinical Psychology (I),” will feature Dr. Vera Engler Cury, from the Graduate Program in Psychology (PPGP) at PUC-Campinas, and Dr. Márcio Luís Fernandes, from the Graduate Program in Theology (PPGT) at PUC-PR. This session will address the practical application of phenomenology in both the analysis of religions as well as in clinical practice, highlighting case studies and methodologies that illustrate the effectiveness of this approach.
Afternoon (4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
The fourth and final roundtable, “The Application of Phenomenology in the Analysis of Religion and Clinical Psychology (II),” will conclude the colloquium with presentations by Dr. Márcio Cappelli Aló Lopes, from the PPGCR at PUC-Campinas, and Dr. Gisella Mouta Fadda, who holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from PUC-Campinas. This session will continue to explore the practical applications of phenomenology, delving into specific examples of how this approach can be used to better understand and address both religious and psychological issues.
