Psalm 6

Psalm 6

1 Lord, do not rebuke me when you are angry; do not discipline me when you are enraged.

2 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am worn out; heal me, Lord, for my bones are shaken.

3 My soul is deeply troubled; and you, Lord, how long?

4 Turn, O Lord, and deliver me; save me by your mercy.

5 For in the kingdom of dead no one remembers you, and who will praise you there?

6 I'm exhausted from moaning. At night I cry until my bed is wet and I water my bed with my tears.

7 My eyes are consumed with sorrow; they fail because of all my adversaries.

8 Get away from me, all you evildoers! The Lord has heard my cry;

9 The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord accepts my plea. prayer.

10 Serão humilhados e perturbados todos os meus inimigos; retrocederão; serão de repente humilhados!

Comment:

O Psalm 6 is a fervent prayer for mercy in times of great distress. The psalmist cries out to God for healing and deliverance, expressing his deep anguish and despair in the face of adversity. He recognizes his weakness and dependence on God, asking for relief from suffering and persecution. This Psalm reminds us that it is acceptable to bring our anguish and worries before God in prayer, trusting in His mercy and power to help us. It also assures us that God hears our pleas and intercedes on our behalf, bringing relief and victory over our enemies. Like the psalmist, we can find hope and consolation in God, even in the darkest moments of life.
